Dr. Michele Borba is an internationally renowned educator and award-winning author who is recognized for her practical, solution-based parenting strategies to strengthen children’s behavior, self-esteem, moral development, and build strong families. As a recognized expert on parenting, Dr. Borba appears regularly as a guest expert on TV including Today, The View,MSNBC, and The Early Show.  AMY C. BAKER
Amy C. Baker is the author of Slow Dancing at Death’s Door, which provides inspiration and practical advice for those in the sandwich generation dealing with the eldercare of their aging parents while still raising kids and managing home and careers. Originally from Fort Worth, Amy graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising. She serves on the Board of Hill Country Christian School of Austin and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators. Amy and her husband, a marriage and family therapist, have been married nearly 20 years and have two kids and lots of pets. They reside in Austin, Texas.

 LISA CUNNINGHAM
Lisa Cunningham, Internet safety advocate and mother of two, met i-SAFE founder Teri Schroeder in 1997, when she joined a small group of volunteers working to address the vast need for Internet safety education. In 2002, after five years with the program as a volunteer, i-SAFE was awarded federal funding from the United States Congress to promote Internet safety awareness in the classroom and beyond. Since that time, Lisa has been involved in i-SAFE’s i-PARENT and Youth Empowerment programs, assisting in the development of Outreach programmatic materials, supporting parents and students with Internet safety-related activities, and conducting Internet safety presentations for parents and students nationwide. As i-SAFE’s i-PARENT and i-FIFTY+ program specialist, Lisa focuses on developing relationships with parent groups and creating local i-PARENT Boards, which partner with i-SAFE to bring Internet safety education to their communities in every city. Lisa is the mother of a 15-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son.

 ELIZABETH PANTLEY
Parenting educator Elizabeth Pantley is president of Better Beginnings, Inc., a family resource and education company. Elizabeth frequently speaks to parents at schools, hospitals, and parent groups around the world. Her presentations are received with enthusiasm, and praised as realistic, warm and helpful. She is a regular radio show guest and frequently quoted as a parenting expert in newspapers and magazines and on hundreds of parent-directed Web sites. She publishes a newsletter, Parent Tips, that is distributed in schools nationwide. Elizabeth is the author of many parenting books, including The No-Cry Sleep Solution; The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlersand Preschoolers; and Perfect Parenting. Elizabeth and her husband, Robert live in Washington, with their four children, Grama (Elizabeth’s mother), and assorted family pets.

Michael H. Popkin, Ph.D.
Dr. Popkin, the president of Active Parenting Publishers, is best-known for pioneering the field of video-based parent education with the introduction of the Active Parenting Discussion Program in 1983. Since then he has authored and produced over 30 books and videos, such as Active Parenting Now and Active Parenting of Teens, which have been used around the world to teach millions of parents how to raise happy and successful children. A frequent keynote speaker and media guest, he has appeared on over 200 television shows including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Montel Williams, and as a regular parenting expert on CNN. His most recent book, Doc Pop’s 52 Weeks of Active Parenting, has been featured on dozens of shows. Dr. Popkin received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University and lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and two teenage children.

Jim Bisenius has 11 years experience as a child and adolescent therapist specializing in teaching extremely targeted youth how to handle bullying situations. While practicing therapy in Central Ohio, Jim’s individual outpatient successes with clients and contagious passion for youth empowerment quickly gained the attention of the area schools. He converted his proven therapy methods into assembly form, and has since trained over 300,000 elementary and middle school students all over Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Michigan with his bully-proofing techniques. Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University and his Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University. He was voted Child Advocate of the Year by the Knox County community and later received the Violence Prevention Award from the Licking County Mental Health Association for his bullying prevention work with youth. Carolyn Brinkmann is a Program Director for Beech Acres Parenting Center in Community and Therapeutic Services. Carolyn is responsible for directing program management and providing clinical oversight for the mental health continuum of services. Carolyn has 18 years of experience in providing mental health and counseling services to children, families and adults. Carolyn has appeared on local news channels as a child advocate and parenting expert. She is highly requested for speaking engagements throughout the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area addressing parenting and mental health issues. Carolyn is a Licensed Social Worker. She has Master’s degree from Wright State University.

Barbara Hunter is the Director of Springer School and Center. Barbara has over 20 years of experience providing guidance and direction in dealing with academic and social and emotional success with children in schools. She has her Masters of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and postgraduate studies from the California State University. Barbara lives in Cincinnati with her husband and teenage daughter.

Jeff Metzger is the founding president of Kids First Sports Center in Sycamore Township. Jeff and his staff of 125 currently teach 5000 children and since 1975 have taught well in excess of 20,000 Cincinnati-area children. This unique opportunity has allowed Jeff to closely observe hundreds if not thousands of parent-child relationships and parenting styles and their long-term results. Additionally, Jeff is the founding president of The Metzger Small Business BOOT CAMP, a 4 ½-day, total-immersion leadership workshop with over 1,000 graduates from U.S., Australia, Canada, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore and Switzerland. Mary Reed has been working with New Hope Center teaching sexual health and abstinence to middle school and high school students and their parents for the past four years. She has spoken at numerous parent seminars and was the keynote speaker at the Kentucky Teen Pregnancy Coalition Conference in 2004. Along with her degree in education, she has 16 years teaching experience. Mary currently resides in Florence with her husband of 22 years and their three children.

Sharon Said, owner of Signing Safari, is a Child Sign Language Specialist who has been offering specialized early childhood and parenting education courses to families for over 20 years. Through her parent training workshops and interactive sign and play classes, Sharon teaches parents how to use American Sign Language to increase communication with their hearing babies and toddlers, lessening the typical stresses of early childhood. With the recent release of her children’s signing video and book series, Sharon is on the fast track to national recognition. She and her husband are the proud parents of 3 sons and reside in Loveland, Ohio.

Laura Stanton is president of Mind Seed, an innovative education and training company that focuses on family education, human development, diversity issues, and early childhood education. Over the past 10 years, Laura has provided over 300 workshops for local parents, as well as state and national audiences. She is a Certified Family Life Educator and has degrees from Cornell University, Miami University, and the University of Minnesota. Trudelle Thomas is a seasoned mother, stepmother, author, and educator with a special passion for empowering women and kids of all ages. Her celebrated book, Spirituality in the Mother Zone, has found fans on at least five continents. She holds a Ph.D. in English and for the past 20 years she has taught at Xavier University in Cincinnati. She lives in Finneytown with her gifted husband Bill McMahan and son Gabe who both know about her secret talents for laying ceramic tile and acing “Pictionary.”

Kathy Zagorianos is a Child and Family Therapist for Beech Acres Parenting Center in Community and Therapeutic Services. She provides individual and family therapy to families coping with a variety of mental health issues, such as impulsive behaviors, inattention and hyperactive behaviors, aggressive behaviors, oppositional behaviors, grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Kathy has 10 years of experience in providing mental health and counseling services to children and families. Kathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Masters degree from the University of Cincinnati in Community Counseling. She is the mother of two boys, ages 5 and 3.
