Power in Parenting®Our Peer-to-Peer Mentoring program partners parents with other parents to guide them with life and parenting issues. Leveraging Beech Acres’ Intentional, Strength-based approach to parenting, this grass-roots, community-based effort focuses on kindergarten readiness, effective parenting, and building self-sustainability. Power in Parenting- Matches parents with a Parent Partner to provide parenting education and help in accessing resources, networks, and support for their children. Parent Partners are experienced parents who have ‘walked in the shoes’ of the program participants. With extra training from Beech Acres, they support the participants in achieving their personal and family goals.
- Matches parents with a Parent Mentor. Parent Mentors volunteer with Beech Acres’ to help parents address their critical needs and the needs of their children and families, such as developing the appropriate skills, knowledge and support to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Teaches parents strength-based activities they can do with their young children to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
- Ensures regular medical care and a permanent medical home for each child.
- Helps parents access services needed to ensure their success, and that of their child.

CostThis program is FREE to
parents in participating neighborhoods. It is funded by United Way of Greater
Cincinnati, Together Ohio and the Alpaugh Foundation.
