Meet Our Coaches

Jamie Mazza, M.Ed., P.C.

Professional Counselor, teacher, and mother of two, ages 10 and 19

Jamie Mazza is a licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of counseling experience. In addition to her master’s degree in counseling, Jamie has bachelor’s degree in elementary education and holds a teaching certificate for grades kindergarten through eight. Prior to her counseling career, she taught preschool and elementary aged children for over 12 years. In addition to coaching, Jamie currently works as a school behavior specialist as part of an intervention team and teaches Beech Acres’ “Helping Children Cope With Divorce” parenting classes.

Jamie is a parent of a young adult and an elementary aged child. She laughingly says that she’s lived through the teen-aged years with her oldest and is now preparing to do it again! She welcomes the opportunity to join parents on the journey of raising their children!

Nancy Prisby, MSW

School Social Worker and mother of three, ages 2, 4, and 7

With a master’s degree in social work, Nancy Prisby loves to help parents create strong families. Previously a school social worker, Nancy has used a team approach to optimize children’s school experience. She has conducted conflict resolution and anger management classes for first through seventh grade students.

Nancy has also worked with children with cancer and their families to help them manage their emotions and to coordinate resources to deal with this most challenging life experience as effectively as possible.

When it comes to coaching parents, Nancy believes that her most important experience is being a parent herself. Nancy’s philosophy of parenting is summed up by a quote from parenting expert, Barbara Coloroso who states, “There is no one way to raise our children, but a path that we must find.” Nancy’s approach to coaching is to maximize strengths while working through challenges. Often, she says, the greatest learning experiences lie in the challenges.

Fran Hendrick, M.Ed., P.C.C.

Coach, Therapist, and mother of two, ages 24 and 26

An independently licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Fran Hendrick has worked with children and families for over twenty years. As the parent of two young adults – she’s had the opportunity to have her ideas and skills tested!

In addition to a master’s degree in counseling, Fran has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and therapeutic recreation. She has served as an activity therapist using games and activities to assist children in managing their emotions and developing social skills; as a behavior management specialist helping parents understand and work with children's challenging behaviors; as a therapist helping people know themselves and navigate life's challenges, and, of course, as a parent coach. Fran is a graduate of world renowned psychologist Martin Seligman’s Authentic Happiness Coaching program.

For Fran, the most exciting thing in the world is helping people see and fully be exactly who they are – and helping parents do this for their children. In Fran’s eyes, our kids are all shining stars; we just have to help them recognize it!
