Beech Acres Parenting Center was named the overall winner of the Organizations of Noteworthy Excellence (ONE) Awards, sponsored by the Business Courier and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Beech Acres Parenting Center was one of 13 finalists in the inaugural competition, held at Music Hall, and received a $10,000 grant as overall winner.
The awards competition recognizes best business practices among Greater Cincinnati’s nonprofits. There are 9,674 nonprofit (tax-exempt) organizations in the 13-county area of southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, according to a report by the Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement & Nonprofit Development at Northern Kentucky University. Applicants for the ONE Award undergo an extensive review process, similar to that used for the Baldrige Awards.
Jim Mason, president and CEO of Beech Acres Parenting Center, said, “We are humbled to receive this award. It is an honor to be considered among the top nonprofits in the region. We are truly blessed in Greater Cincinnati to have such vibrant organizations providing diverse services to strengthen our community.”
Beech Acres Parenting Center has been serving children and families in Greater Cincinnati since 1849. With a mission of strengthening families for children, Beech Acres Parenting Center services are based on the principle that all parents, or other dedicated adults, want the best for their children, and all can benefit from information, support and guidance in raising children to reach their unique potential.
