About Us
Our Mission / Vision
Beech Acres Parenting Center enjoys a long and noble history of caring for children. Founded in 1849 following a cholera epidemic, which left many without parents, it continues to evolve to meet the growing needs of children in our increasingly complex world. Today we know that children thrive best within families, not institutions, and that all families face the challenges of modern-day child rearing.
Research shows that parental influence has declined as the impact of the media and peers on children's values has increased. This shift has occurred at a time when children are exposed to information and decisions faced a generation ago only by adults.
At Beech Acres Parenting Center, we believe everyone is born with unique talents and gifts. One of the primary jobs of any parent, or dedicated adult, is to help her/his children discover and nurture their individual abilities. This is not always easy. But when successful, the results are children who grow to become happy, productive and contributing citizens.
Our services are designed around a few simple guiding principles: All parents, or dedicated adults, want the best for their children. All have questions. All face dilemmas. All aspire to learn in a caring, competent and supportive atmosphere.
As parents cope with life's daily pressures and sift through the volumes of available information about parenting, it's easy to feel confused and overwhelmed. Beech Acres Parenting Center taps the strengths in every family, and every parent, to help them achieve their goals. We do this by providing information and services tailored to their unique needs and interests.
The challenging, yet intensely rewarding, responsibility of rearing the next generation belongs to every parent and dedicated adult. Beech Acres Parenting Center offers them leadership, guidance and support with its ultimate purpose of Strengthening Families for Children.
