WORKSHOP TITLE: Does My Child Have ADHD? Strategies to address inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity in your child

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is a mental health diagnosis used to identify children who display persistent pattern inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity which is more severe than typically observed in other children. Most children display impulsive or inattentive behaviors. Parents often struggle to determine whether their child’s behavior is “severe” or “typical” for a child of their age. Many parents seek ideas and suggestions to help their child with these behavioral issues, especially when issues of hyperactivity or inattention begin to affect their child’s academic performance and social engagement. This workshop will give information to help parents whose children have ADHD and those who suspect that their child may have ADHD. Strategies and interventions that address issues of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity will be discussed.
